Sacramento – Equality California today announced its endorsement of Assemblymember Susan Bonilla for State Senate District 7. The district represents the communities of Alamo, Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek.
“Assemblymember Bonilla carried a historic and important piece of legislation for Equality California last year,” said Rick Zbur, EQCA executive director. “Ending the “panic defense” was a significant achievement, due in part to Asm. Bonilla’s leadership. Prior to its passage, California courts legitimized prejudice and hate against our community. In addition to Asm. Bonilla’s 100 percent pro-equality track record, she has and will continue to be a strong voice for full equality for the LGBT community in California.”
