LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, announced endorsements of nine out LGBTQ+ candidates running for local, state and federal offices Monday — the organization’s second round of endorsements ahead of a local special election in November of 2023 and the Presidential Primary Election in March of 2024.
“We are thrilled to support these qualified pro-equality candidates,” said Equality California Executive Tony Hoang. “Last year, Equality California endorsed a record number of out LGBTQ+ candidates for office, and we expect to reach even higher numbers this year. We look forward to building upon the historic 10% LGBTQ+ representation we achieved in the California state legislature, which made California the first state in the nation to achieve that milestone.”
